Low Calorie Drinks

WITH NEW YEARS EVE APPROACHING FAST, AND WITH CHRISTMAS SAFETY PACKED UNDER OUR BELTS… A LOWER CALORIE DRINK OPTION MAY WORK WONDERS.

Alcohol itself is calorific, containing 7kcal per gram making it almost the most calorific rich group (Fat containing 9kcal/g and carbohydrates containing 4kcal/g). However alcohol can be referred to as ‘Empty Calories’, having a high calorie content with no nutritional benefits (contains no vitamins or minerals). Most people enjoy alcohol in moderation and a healthy balanced diet. However, with Christmas in full swing and New Year around the corner, some of us are enjoying more drink than usual. Drinks do contain calories, and this can be contributing to the festive weight gain.
