Tribal Clash: UK

"TRIBAL CLASH IS AN ELECTRIFYING FUSION OF FUNCTIONAL FITNESS, OBSTACLE RACING, ADVENTURE RACING AND A FESTIVAL"

Tribal Clash is a mini adventure holiday for all those fitness fanatics. Its traveling to a beach festival with 6 of your mates to par-take in the unknown, push yourself to the limits of your physical capabilities, hold tight and support forever growing friendship bonds and create lifelong memories.

The entire competition is outdoors, heavily relying on the UK to have some beautiful British weather. This year we were blessed with a stunningly hot Saturday to kick of the first day of competition. Sunday's the British weather showed its true colours, and the rain hit hard, making the workouts ever more gruelling.

The teams compete in several separate and varied events during the weekend, typically being 3-4 workouts per day all of which are all kept secret until the day prior to competition. Everyone enjoys a surprise, but this means pack for every eventuality, pack double, pack for hot weather, pack for cold weather, pack for torrential rain, pack for your forgetful teammates. If your lucky like our team (Crossfit Chester) pack your captains parents, and enjoy their generosity of preparing the beach set up, lighting the BBQ (making the whole beach jealous), preparing a delicious array of post workout nutritious goodies and become number one supporters. Tribal clash isn't just for the competitors, its a great event for supporter and a real team/ community beach vibe.

Most events take place on the Arena constructed on the beach, some events take the athletes to the water, and some events take them to the trails surrounding the beach. Remember this is a competition of outdoor fitness... so be prepared.

This was my first tribal event and i can’t say enough about how well the event was organised, despite the weather dramatic changes in weather and quick transformation & adaption of workouts, the event ran smoothly. The communication between organisers, volunteers and team was outstanding, events ran on time and everyone seemed to know what they were doing. Smiles all round... even when the judges, crew, competitors, supporters, lifeguards were wet through.

A MASSIVE heads up for the event photographer, catching all those fantastic shots. Wading out into the water to catch the SuPs, climbing on beams, running up the 5K trial run and standing outside in the miserable Sunday weather. I am sure every athlete will join me in saying Thank You!
